The usage method of the wine knife bottle opener (Seahorse Knife) can be divided into the following steps, combined with the precautions for different scenarios:
I. Operating Steps
Handle the bottle mouth cover
Use a small sawtooth wine knife to horizontally cut the rubber cap or tin foil along the lower edge of the protruding ring at the bottle mouth. The movement should be steady and avoid rotating the wine bottle.
After removing the cover, wipe the residue on the bottle mouth with a tablecloth. If you find mold and dust on the top of the cork, it is a normal phenomenon and can be cleaned up.
Insert the screw drill
Align the auger with the center of the cork and rotate it vertically to drill into the reserved 1-2 rings (to avoid drilling through the cork and causing debris to fall).
If the drill is crooked, it needs to be readjusted; otherwise, the cork may break.
Pull out the lever
First-level lever: Secure the wine knife stand buckle to the bottle mouth. Hold the stand firmly with your left hand and lift the handle upward at a constant speed with your right hand.
Second-level lever: After the cork is pulled out halfway, switch to the second-level snap and repeat the lifting action until the cork is about to be completely detached.
Remove the cork
Gently hold the remaining cork with your hand and slowly unscrew it out to avoid excessive force causing noise or breaking the cork.
Ii. Precautions
Disposal of old wine bottles : Lead cap wine bottles should be cut carefully to avoid leaving sharp edges to scratch;
Sediment control : Keep the bottle still throughout the opening process to avoid shaking the bottom sediment affecting the taste;
Force application technique : Use the lever principle to apply force when lifting to avoid pushing hard and causing the cork to break.
(Note: Some differences in operational details result from different designs of the wine knives, but the core principle remains the same.)
